La Bombe Magazine

La Bombe Magazine, previously To Do List, is a French urban lifestyle magazine based in Los Angeles. They approached us to do a series for their premiere issue, No° 0. The concept was based around several outfits to be shot in an ambiguous open space. We took to the Amboy Salt Flats to explore their otherworldly landscapes. Our model ventures through the flats, lost and unsure of her own self-image in search of herself. In the end, she comes upon a mirror left in the landscape as if it were calling to her. As soon as she sees herself in it, she discovers freedom and is unchained from the anxieties that had held her down.

We went with a monochrome tone both to stay with La Bombe’s visual aesthetic and to represent a timeless tale. The slow-motion portrayed her movements similar to trudging on the surface of the moon. Even the landscapes looked eerily as if it were another planet.
